Kaduna communities get boost as Sen. Katung Sunday delivers aid to IDPs, rural Hospitals
A serving senator, Sen. Katung Sunday, has provided relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and extended support to rural hospitals across Kaduna State in a move aimed at easing hardship and strengthening healthcare delivery in underserved areas. Sen. Sunday represents the Kaduna South Senatorial District.
The lawmaker, whose constituency has been affected by repeated security challenges, said the gesture was part of his commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable residents. He noted that many displaced families continue to struggle with basic needs and require consistent support to rebuild their lives.
The distributed items included food supplies, bedding materials, clothing, and hygiene essentials for the IDP camps. Community leaders expressed gratitude, describing the intervention as timely, especially as families prepare for the end-of-year period.
In addition, the senator donated medical supplies and basic equipment to several rural hospitals to enhance their capacity to handle everyday health emergencies. Health workers in the benefiting facilities said the assistance would help improve service delivery and reduce pressure on overstretched staff.
Sen. Sunday reaffirmed his dedication to supporting communities affected by insecurity and called for stronger collaboration between government and stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Kaduna State.
