NAWOJ celebrates Honours for Women Journalists at NUJ’s 70th Anniversary
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to its past leaders and the current National Chairperson, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, following their recognition at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) 70th anniversary held in Abuja.
The association described the awards as a clear testament to the hard work, resilience, and remarkable contributions of these women in promoting journalism and mentoring a new generation of professionals in the industry.
In a statement signed by the National Secretary of NAWOJ, Wasilah Ladan, the group commended the NUJ for recognising journalists who have made significant contributions to national development. The association also praised the NUJ for consistently promoting excellence and upholding professionalism in Nigeria’s media landscape.
NAWOJ expressed pride in the accomplishments of its members and reiterated its commitment to working with the NUJ to advance the interests of journalists and the growth of credible, ethical journalism across the country.
The association congratulated all the award recipients, describing their honours as well-deserved.
