NECO boosts examination efficiency with new high-performance scanner
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has recently acquired a state-of-the-art Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) Scanner to improve the efficiency and security of its exams.
Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, unveiled the new scanner at the Council’s ICT Department in Minna.
He explained that this move is part of NECO’s ongoing efforts to enhance the accuracy and speed of its exam processes.
The new machine, the Scantron Insight 1500c, is known for its high precision and quick performance.
It can scan over 15,000 OMR sheets per hour, or 250 sheets per minute, ensuring exams are processed faster and more accurately.
Costing around N500 million, the machine can also scan and score papers at the same time, making the entire process more efficient.
Professor Wushishi highlighted that this acquisition is a significant step in NECO’s commitment to using modern technology to improve the exam experience for all involved.
