Nigeria’s Under-23 and Under-18 men’s handball teams have launched intensive training camps as they prepare for two significant international handball championships.
The Under-23 team, under the guidance of coaches Solomon Yola and Adebayo Yekini, is engaging in rigorous training in Abuja to prepare for the 5th IHF Emerging Nations Championship, which will be held from March 11 to 16, 2025, in Vana, Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, the national Under-18 men’s handball team, led by coaches Emeka Nnamani and Joshua Ayo, have also started their preparations in Lagos ahead of the IHF Trophy Intercontinental Phase, which will be held in Pristina, Kosovo, from 12th to 16th March, 2025.
The Under-18 team will represent Africa in the competition after their impressive 38-26 victory over Guinea in the Continental Phase, which secured them the championship title in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in November 2024.
