Over 1.9m apply for Paramilitary jobs, Kogi leads the pack

Kogi State has emerged with the highest number of applicants in the recent paramilitary recruitment exercise, recording 116,188 entries, according to figures released by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
The statistics, released on Monday at the close of the application process, place Kogi ahead of other states. Kaduna State followed closely with 114,551 applicants, while Benue State came third with 110,583. Together, the three states accounted for a significant share of the total applications.
The data also highlighted notable disparities in turnout across the country. Lagos, Bayelsa, Rivers and Ebonyi were among the states with the lowest numbers. Lagos had 14,216 applicants, while Bayelsa recorded the fewest with 11,669.
Nationwide, the total number of applications reached 1,911,377.
According to CDCFIB, shortlisted candidates will be contacted soon with further instructions.
“Applicants are advised to keep a close watch on their emails and text messages for notifications and to regularly check the official recruitment portal for updates,” the statement read.
