Trump reveals his Son Barron is a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan
United States President Donald Trump has disclosed that his youngest son, Barron, is a passionate admirer of football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Trump made the remark after Ronaldo met Barron shortly before the Portuguese legend was honoured at a White House dinner on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo was among the high-profile guests invited as President Trump hosted Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in Washington, D.C. The Al Nassr captain arrived in the U.S. with his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, and appeared in a black tuxedo as he took his seat among notable figures, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and U.S. Vice President JD Vance.
During the dinner, Trump acknowledged the football icon and shared how excited Barron had been to meet one of the most decorated players in football history.
“This room is filled with some of the biggest leaders in business and sports,” Trump said. “My son is a big fan of Ronaldo. Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now—just because I introduced him. So I want to thank you both for being here.”
Ronaldo has been in the spotlight recently after receiving a red card in Portugal’s World Cup qualifying match against Ireland, which made him miss the subsequent win over Armenia. That victory sealed Portugal’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
