Vatican schedules funeral for Pope Francis on Saturday

Pope Francis’ funeral has been scheduled to hold on Saturday at 10:00am (0800 GMT), according to a statement released by the Vatican on Tuesday.

The ceremony will take place in the square outside St Peter’s Basilica. After the service, his coffin will be moved into the church and later taken to the Santa Maria Maggiore basilica in Rome for burial.
