Tyson, Mayweather agree to 2026 exhibition fight
Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to face off in an exhibition match set for spring 2026, promoter CSI Sports announced on Thursday.
While the exact date and venue have not been disclosed, the bout is already generating global buzz as two of boxing’s most iconic names prepare to share the ring.
Tyson, 59, boasts a professional record of 50 wins, seven losses, and 44 knockouts. The former heavyweight champion was regarded as one of the most feared fighters of his era. He last fought in November 2024, suffering a one-sided defeat to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas, in a bout witnessed by about 70,000 fans in person and millions more worldwide.
Mayweather, 48, retired undefeated in 2017 after winning world titles across five weight classes and compiling a flawless 50-0 record. Despite stepping away from professional competition, he has taken part in several exhibition bouts, including a win over John Gotti III in Mexico in August 2024.
“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather I thought, ‘No way this happens,’” Tyson said in a statement released by CSI. “But Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
The exhibition bout promises to be a major spectacle, bringing together two of the most successful fighters in boxing history.
