Tunji Disu confirmed as substantive IGP by Police Council
The Nigeria Police Council has officially confirmed Tunji Disu as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) following a meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Disu, who was appointed acting IGP on February 24 by President Bola Tinubu after the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun, now assumes the substantive leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
The council’s confirmation marks the formal endorsement required before his appointment is transmitted to the Senate for statutory confirmation, in line with the Police Act 2020.
