Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will resume camping on June 14 as preparations intensify for their decisive FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Benin Republic.

The team will reconvene at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne after a short break following their commanding performance in the previous round of qualifiers.

Coached by Hakeem Busari, the Flamingos booked their place in the final qualifying stage in dominant fashion, defeating Guinea 11–0 on aggregate.

They secured a 5–0 away win in the first leg before completing a 6–0 victory in the return fixture, underlining their attacking strength and defensive discipline.

Attention has now shifted to Benin Republic, who stand between Nigeria and qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Benin earned their place in the final qualifying round after eliminating Sierra Leone 5–1 on aggregate, winning 3–0 in the first leg and 2–1 in the reverse fixture.

The West African clash is expected to be tightly contested, with both sides targeting a place at the global tournament.

Nigeria, however, will head into the tie as strong favourites, having shown dominant form throughout the qualification campaign and aiming to continue their impressive run on the international stage.
