Toddler drowns in FCT as Police launch investigation
A devastating incident in the Federal Capital Territory has led to the investigation of a three-year-old’s drowning, with allegations of parental negligence.
The child was left at home with a ten-year-old sibling, during which time the toddler fell into a water container and tragically drowned.
The mother of the deceased is currently in custody as the police conduct a thorough investigation.
Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department to handle the case, with plans to submit the findings to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh emphasized the importance of adequate supervision by parents and guardians to prevent such heartbreaking incidents.
The FCT Police Command remains dedicated to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals in the community.
