IGP Egbetokun assigns newly appointed DIGs to key Police departments
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the postings of six newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to key departments within the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the strategic redeployment aims to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen security nationwide.
*Under the new postings* :
DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar will head the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo takes charge of the Force Intelligence Department.
DIG Williams Adebowale now leads the ICT Department.
DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi assumes control of Operations.
DIG Adebola Hamzat will oversee Logistics and Supply.
DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma has been assigned to Research and Planning.
Additionally, DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya has been reassigned to lead the Department of Finance and Administration.
The IGP expressed confidence in their capabilities and reaffirmed his commitment to strategic deployments that optimise police effectiveness. He assured Nigerians that the Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to ensuring national security, with these new assignments expected to improve law enforcement operations across the country.
