Wike commends FCT Project Contractors, urges timely, quality delivery
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has urged contractors involved in various projects within the territory to ensure the delivery of high-quality work within the stipulated timelines.
Mr Wike made this appeal on Monday during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the capital city, ahead of the planned inauguration to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
Among the projects inspected was the 16-kilometre Inner Northern Expressway, spanning from Idu to Dei Dei, currently being undertaken by the construction firm Salini. The minister also visited the Jahi Interchange site, which is being executed by Gilmor and will connect Wole Soyinka Way with the Murtala Mohammed Expressway.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace and standard of work on the projects, Mr Wike praised the contractors for their commitment to working tirelessly, both day and night, to meet the set targets.
“The contractors have assured us that they will meet the deadline; they are working around the clock,” said Mr Wike. “I am confident that in the next two weeks, the projects will appear markedly different and will be approaching completion. I am impressed with the contractors handling these two projects, and what matters most is the quality of the work.”
