ECOWAS highlights regional peace efforts at African Defence Summit in Abuja
The ECOWAS Commission has reiterated its dedication to peace and security in West Africa through its participation at the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit held in Abuja from August 25 to 27, 2025.
During the summit, ECOWAS showcased an exhibition featuring a variety of its publications, which outlined the Commission’s initiatives in conflict prevention, tackling the spread of small arms, strengthening democratic governance, and promoting women, peace, and security.
The exhibition further emphasized ECOWAS’ broader commitment to fostering peace, stability, and sustainable development across the sub-region.
