FCT Police Commissioner receives NBA delegation, vows to uncover killers of Abuja Lawyer
The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has assured that a thorough and discreet investigation is underway into the killing of Abuja-based lawyer, Ms Princess Ochigbo, whose body was found along the Kubwa Expressway.
CP Dantawaye gave the assurance on Friday, January 9, 2026, when he received a delegation of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Abuja.
The delegation, drawn from the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), the NBA Women Forum, and Unity Bar, was on an advocacy visit to formally express concern over the tragic death of their colleague.
While commiserating with the legal community, the police boss described the incident as painful and disturbing, assuring that the Command is fully committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding the killing and ensuring that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.
He stressed that the investigation is being handled with utmost discretion and professionalism to guarantee justice for the deceased and her family.
CP Dantawaye also urged residents of the FCT to remain security-conscious, particularly when using public transportation. He cautioned members of the public—especially women—to be vigilant about the vehicles they board and to avoid accepting free rides from strangers.
According to him, public cooperation, timely sharing of intelligence, and collective vigilance are critical in combating “one-chance” criminal syndicates operating within the Territory.
The Commissioner encouraged residents to promptly report suspicious movements or activities through the FCT Police Command emergency lines: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
The NBA delegation thanked the police leadership for the assurance and called for swift justice, stressing the need to protect legal practitioners and residents from violent crimes.
