MultiChoice Nigeria announces price Hike for DStv and GOtv
MultiChoice Nigeria, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has announced a price adjustment for its subscription packages, effective from March 1, 2025.
This decision comes despite a caution from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) against arbitrary price hikes.
In a statement by John Ugbe, CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria, the company cited rising operational costs as the reason for the increase.
These costs are attributed to economic factors such as currency depreciation and high inflation, which have significantly impacted the company’s expenses.
The new prices for DStv packages are as follows:
• Compact: From N15,700 to N19,000
• Compact Plus: From N24,500 to N30,000
• Premium: From N29,500 to N44,500
For GOtv, the new prices are:
• Value: From N3,600 to N3,900
• Plus: From N4,850 to N5,800
• Max: From N6,200 to N8,500
• Supa: From N9,600 to N11,400
• Supa Plus: From N13,500 to N16,800
MultiChoice emphasized its commitment to delivering world-class content and entertainment to its customers. However, the FCCPC has directed MultiChoice to suspend the planned price hike pending further investigation
