NASENI CEO urges Staff to embrace Sportsmanship, Innovation ahead of 2025 Games
The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has urged staff and participants of the upcoming NASENI Games 2025 to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and innovation as preparations for the event gather momentum.
Halilu made this appeal during the unveiling of the official logo and activities calendar for the games at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja. He emphasized that the competition is not just about winning medals but about fostering collaboration, discipline, and creativity.
“At NASENI, innovation drives everything we do. The Games are an opportunity to translate that same energy into sports — to compete fairly, collaborate openly, and remind ourselves that excellence is achieved through unity and hard work,” he stated.
He revealed that the 2025 edition would feature a mix of physical and intellectual contests, including innovation-themed challenges and technology showcases designed to stimulate creative thinking among staff.
The NASENI boss explained that promoting a healthy work environment through sports is part of the agency’s wider strategy to boost morale, productivity, and teamwork across its development institutes nationwide.
Members of the organizing committee disclosed that this year’s Games will include track and field events, football, table tennis, chess, and a special “Tech Marathon,” where teams will present practical solutions to local engineering and technology problems.
Halilu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation built on teamwork and integrity, stressing that sports serve as a powerful platform to strengthen unity among employees.
The NASENI Games 2025 will feature participation from staff across the agency’s centers and departments, with the grand finale scheduled to take place later in Abuja.
