NUJ FCT Council to hold first congress under new executive

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has announced plans to hold its first Congress under the leadership of its newly elected executive team.
The Congress is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25 January 2025, at the NUJ FCT Secretariat, Utako, commencing at 12:00 pm.
This will be the first Congress since the Grace Ike-led administration assumed office following its election on 4 December 2024, under the mantra “One Voice, New Era.”
In a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, members were encouraged to attend the meeting, which has been described as crucial to the union’s progress.
Since taking office, the new administration has embarked on a transformational agenda that has seen the Council undergo a significant facelift. Members are expected to discuss these achievements and chart a path forward during the Congress.
All members are urged to make this event a priority and to contribute actively to the deliberations.
