Tinubu celebrates Minister Dele Alake on 69th Birthday, hails loyalty, service
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Dele Alake, on his 69th birthday, describing him as a reliable ally, strategic thinker, and loyal patriot whose work has contributed significantly to Nigeria’s development over the years.
In a statement on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Dr Alake’s long record of excellence in journalism, public service, and strategic communication.
The President highlighted that the Minister remains one of the most accomplished professionals of his generation, noting their decades-long friendship and partnership built on shared values of service, integrity, and dedication to Nigeria’s progress.
“Dr Dele Alake has remained a committed, loyal, and outstanding ally for several decades. His steadfastness and unyielding commitment to national development and progress stand him out as a patriot,” President Tinubu said.
The President also commended Dr Alake’s efforts to transform the solid minerals sector into a major revenue source for the country. He noted that the Minister’s reforms — including investment promotion, policy innovation, and integrating artisanal miners into the formal economy — support the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“On this special day, I pray that Almighty God will continue to bless Dele with good health, wisdom, and strength,” President Tinubu added.
Dr Alake, a veteran journalist and former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, has been a close associate of President Tinubu since the 1990s and currently leads initiatives to harness Nigeria’s mineral resources for sustainable development.
