Clerk to the National Assembly pledges reform,enhanced staff welfare
The Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mr Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., has reiterated his commitment to advancing key legislative reforms, including the amendment of the National Assembly Service Act and the National Assembly Pension Board (Establishment) Bill.
Speaking at his inaugural meeting with top management of the National Assembly bureaucracy, Mr Ogunlana underscored his resolve to prioritise staff welfare, recognising its crucial role in enhancing productivity. He also assured continuity in infrastructural development initiatives introduced by his predecessor while addressing critical security challenges within the institution.
Commending the management team for their dedication to sustaining efficiency and effectiveness in the parliamentary service, Mr Ogunlana called for collective efforts in achieving the Assembly’s strategic objectives. He emphasised that the National Assembly remains Africa’s most vibrant, busiest, and largest parliament.
“The future of our institution hinges on our collective commitment to progress and excellence. Let us work together, upholding the ideals of professionalism, accountability, and service to the Nigerian people,” he stated.
The meeting marked the beginning of Mr Ogunlana’s tenure, setting the tone for a reform-driven approach to governance within the National Assembly.
