Dangote slashes Petrol price to ₦825 per litre ahead of Ramadan

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, slashing it by ₦65—from ₦890 to ₦825 per litre. The new pricing takes effect from 27th February 2025.
According to Dangote, this adjustment is aimed at providing much-needed relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season while also aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery strategy by easing the financial burden on citizens.
The Daily Trust reports that Dangote has consistently reduced the prices of gasoline and other refined petroleum products in recent months.
This marks the second petrol price reduction in February 2025, following an earlier ₦60 cut at the beginning of the month. Similarly, in December 2024, during the festive season, the refinery reduced the price of PMS by ₦70.50, lowering it from ₦970 to ₦899.50 per litre in a bid to cushion the cost of living for Nigerians.
With this latest reduction, the refinery management has announced the following retail prices for Dangote petrol across partner outlets:
MRS Holdings stations: ₦860 per litre in Lagos, ₦870 in the South-West, ₦880 in the North, and ₦890 in the South-South and South-East.
AP (Ardova Petroleum) & Heyden stations: ₦865 per litre in Lagos, ₦875 in the South-West, ₦885 in the North, and ₦895 in the South-South and South-East.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has assured the public of a steady and sufficient supply of petroleum products to meet local demand while also maintaining surplus reserves for export, contributing to Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.
The company has urged marketers to support this initiative to ensure that the benefits of the price reduction reach Nigerian consumers directly.
