Eid-el-Fitr: Kwara NUJ felicitates Muslims, preaches sustenance of Ramadan lessons
The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated with Muslim ummah on the successful completion of the 1446th Ramadan fast and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement issued by its Chairman, Ahmed ‘Lanre Abdullateef, and Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the Union congratulated Muslim faithful, particularly its members, for witnessing yet another Eid.
It urged them to uphold and reflect on the enduring values of piety, forgiveness, alms giving, tolerance, and perseverance imbibed during the just concluded holy month.
The NUJ prayed for peace, tranquillity, and continuous progress within the union, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole.
It called on Nigerians to live in harmony, shun divisive tendencies, and foster unity, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
The Union also extended its warm greetings to the Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Maimartaba, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahyah Abdullahi, as well as members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) and the entire Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
The NUJ also prayed for divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for leaders at all levels to enable them to continue serving with justice, fairness, and dedication.
It encouraged citizens to support their leaders in fostering development, peace, and prosperity for all.
