FCTDecides2026: INEC Boss Amupitan vows E-Transmission to IReV, says votes will count
INEC Boss Joash Amupitan has assured FCT residents that their votes in the area council polls will be fully counted, with results electronically transmitted to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
Speaking during monitoring at polling units in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Saturday, Amupitan confirmed the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is functioning smoothly.

He stressed that e-transmission complies with existing laws.
Amupitan commended INEC officials for timely deployment of materials and noted the polls have been peaceful so far across the FCT.
“The credibility of these area council elections will boost trust in grassroots democracy as Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections,” he said.
This FCT poll marks one of Amupitan’s first major tests since assuming office in October 2025.
