Moji Danisa expresses deep appreciation to NUJ FCT for special honour
Veteran journalist and media personality, Moji Danisa, has expressed deep gratitude to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Chapter, for honouring her during the council’s 2025 Press Week Public Lecture.
In a heartfelt message, Danisa described the recognition as one that holds immense significance for her, particularly because it came from her professional family—the NUJ. She extended her appreciation to the Grace Ike-led executive for finding her worthy of the distinction.
“Over the years, I have received various accolades and awards, but this one holds a special place in my heart because it comes from my professional family, the NUJ,” Danisa said.
She noted that being acknowledged by fellow journalists who understand the rigorous demands, long nights, and unwavering dedication to the principles of journalism made the award especially meaningful.
Recalling her early days in the profession, Danisa said her journey began as a teenager when she served as Publicity Secretary of the NUJ BTV (now EBS) Chapel in Benin. She said journalism has shaped her life in every way and remains her passion and calling.
“I thank God Almighty, El Roi—the God who sees all—for keeping me alive to witness this honour. I also salute all journalists, past and present, who continue to uphold the truth against all odds,” she added.
Danisa said the recognition will further strengthen her resolve to continue serving the profession with passion and integrity.
She also extended her thanks to the NUJ FCT Chairman, Grace Ike, the executive members, the organizing committee, and all who contributed to making the 2025 Press Week a huge success.
“I am truly grateful. I am proud to be a journalist,” she concluded.
