The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has restated its unwavering support for ethical journalism and professional excellence. The council emphasised its dedication to upholding the principles of integrity and objectivity in the media profession while fostering the growth and development of its members.
The NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Ms Grace Ike, made this known at Monday’s swearing-in ceremony for the Voice of Nigeria FCT Chapel’s newly elected executive.
Ms. Grace Ike, who was represented by the Secretary of the FCT Council, Mr Jide Oyekunle, and the Vice Chairman, Mr Yahaya Ndambabo, commended chapel members for their dedication and unity.
In his remarks, Oyekunle urged members to remain steadfast in their commitment to professionalism. “You need to support one another and avoid abandoning your colleagues midway.
“The NUJ FCT Council will continue to support the chapel and ensure that the ethics of journalism are sustained and upheld. It is crucial to be good ambassadors of the union and justify the confidence reposed in you by members.”
The newly elected Chairman of the VON NUJ Chapel, Mrs. Feyisayo Oyebanji, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members for their trust and support. “I appreciate your confidence in my leadership and promise to work tirelessly to uphold the values and expectations of this chapel. Together, we will achieve greater heights and reinforce our commitment to ethical journalism,” she said.
The newly elected executives are:
Chairman: Feyisayo Oyebanji
Vice Chairman: Aisha John Mark

Financial Secretary: Angela Agbegir
Auditor: Stanley Madu

The election process was marked by professionalism and camaraderie, underscoring the members’ collective resolve to propel the chapel toward greater accomplishments.
