Rivers SSG Benibo Anabraba quits PDP, set to join APC
Benibo Anabraba, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), sources confirmed.
Anabraba conveyed his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. He described his resignation as a “personal decision” while expressing gratitude for the “political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership.”
Although he did not explicitly reveal his next political step, political observers indicate that Anabraba is expected to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in line with a recent wave of senior defections from the PDP in Rivers State.
