Tributes pour In for Comrade Paul Ella Abechi over Exemplary Leadership at NUJ FCT
Congratulations are in order for Comrade Paul Ella Abechi, whose tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has been widely hailed as a model of visionary leadership and dedication to journalism and national development.
In a glowing tribute, former National Secretary of the NUJ, Shu’aibu Usman Leman, commended Abechi for his outstanding achievements, which include initiating international exchange programmes, professional development workshops, and fostering stronger ties between the media and key stakeholders such as the military and political leaders.
“Your success in securing the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) for Nigerian journalists, organizing EU-sponsored training, and launching innovative initiatives like the NUJ/Chinese Table Tennis Tournament are just a few highlights of your incredible legacy,” Leman noted.
He further praised Abechi’s bold initiatives in hosting high-level dialogues with the Chief of Army Staff and the FCT Minister, describing them as impactful steps toward bridging critical gaps in public communication.
Beyond his union leadership, Abechi’s work in various media roles has also earned him recognition for his contributions to public discourse and nation-building.
“Your unwavering commitment to journalism, professional growth, and fostering unity within the media community is truly admirable. You leave behind a legacy worth emulating,” Leman added.
The NUJ community and well-wishers continue to celebrate Abechi’s tenure as one that reshaped the landscape of media leadership in the FCT.
