BREAKING: Senate unseals office of suspended Kogi Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
The office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has been unsealed by the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms, months after it was locked following her suspension.
The office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate wing, had remained sealed since March 6, 2025, when the lawmaker was suspended from the red chamber for six months over alleged breaches of standing rules.
In a video shared on Tuesday, Alabi Adedeji, deputy director of the sergeant-at-arms, was seen removing the red seal from the office door. “I, Alabi Adedeji, deputy director, sergeant-at-arms, hereby unseal the office. The office is hereby unsealed. Thank you,” he declared in the 25-second clip.
It is, however, not yet clear whether the move restores Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s full access to her office and the National Assembly complex, as the Senate has not issued any resolution on her suspension.
On September 9, the National Assembly authorities barred the Kogi lawmaker from resuming legislative duties, insisting her suspension remained a matter before the courts.
