Chelle bolsters Super Eagles squad with four new additions for Russia friendly
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has made fresh adjustments to his squad ahead of Friday’s international friendly against Russia in Moscow.
Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick leads the list of four new players called up for the game. Joining him are home-based stars Isaac Saviour, Sodiq Ismail, and Sikiru Alimi.
The quartet, who were part of the Super Eagles squad at the recent Unity Cup invitational tournament, were not originally listed for the Russia encounter.
Fredrick and Ismail had started in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica, while Alimi featured in the match against Ghana, showcasing solid performances that have now earned them late call-ups.
Before these additions, Niger Tornadoes midfielder Papa Daniel was the only home-based player in the team for the upcoming international fixture.
