The Nigeria Police Force has debunked a viral poster circulating on social media alleging that Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, was declared wanted.

The poster, which claimed a reward had been placed for information leading to her arrest, was dismissed by the police as fake and misleading.

In a statement released on Thursday via the Force’s official social media platforms, the police clarified that the document did not originate from them.

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating about stating that the Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force.

The Nigeria Police Force urges members of the public to verify information through official channels and be cautious of misinformation,” the statement read.

The development comes amid ongoing controversies following claims by social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who alleged that Iyabo Ojo and others attempted to implicate singer Naira Marley in the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
