Delta Police arrest Four Officers filmed counting Cash in Patrol Van
The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four officers captured in a viral video counting bundles of money inside a patrol vehicle.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, described the footage as “embarrassing” and revealed that the officers have been identified and arrested.
“They appeared before the Commissioner of Police today. The four personnel, two of them senior officers, have been queried, while the two inspectors have been detained and are awaiting an orderly room trial,” Edafe said.
The incident, which sparked widespread public outrage, showed the policemen seated in a patrol van counting wads of cash. Edafe had earlier assured Nigerians that disciplinary measures would be taken against the officers involved.
