NAF airstrikes destroy major terrorist base in Tsafe, Zamfara
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major success in Zamfara State after precision airstrikes destroyed a key terrorist hideout at the Sauri camp in Tsafe Local Government Area.
The strikes, carried out on 14 November 2025 by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, followed detailed intelligence and surveillance that confirmed heavy terrorist activity and the presence of rustled livestock on a high-ground camp used as both a defensive base and logistics hub.
According to the NAF, multiple coordinated air interdiction passes were launched on the target, resulting in direct hits that forced surviving terrorists to flee into nearby bushes. They were tracked and neutralized during follow up engagements.
The operation led to the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of structures and supply points critical to their operations, significantly weakening the group’s capabilities in the area.
The successful mission aligns with the pledge of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has repeatedly assured Nigerians that the Air Force will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”
The NAF said the strike further demonstrates its commitment, alongside the Joint Task Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, to denying terrorists safe havens, boosting security in Zamfara, and contributing to broader efforts to restore peace across the North West.
