Taye Taiwo inducted into Olympique Marseille Hall of Fame
Former Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s prestigious Hall of Fame.
Taiwo, who played for the French club from 2005 to 2011, was a key figure in their success during his six-year tenure. He made a significant impact, scoring 25 goals and providing 23 assists across 271 appearances.
The left-back contributed to Marseille’s triumphs, helping them secure the French league title, the French League Cup, and the French Super Cup during his time at the club.
Taiwo moved to Italian giants AC Milan in 2011, ending his successful spell at Marseille.
Regarded as one of Nigeria’s finest left-backs, Taiwo earned 54 international caps between 2004 and 2011, scoring five goals.
