Massive crackdown in FCT as Police arrest 245 suspects, confiscate array of deadly weapons
In a significant crackdown on crime, the FCT Police Command has arrested 245 suspects and recovered a cache of dangerous weapons and hard drugs.
This operation is part of a broader effort to tackle rising criminal activities in the Federal Capital Territory. The recovered items include firearms and other offensive weapons, highlighting the command’s commitment to ensuring public safety and security.
The arrests and seizures underscore the police’s proactive approach to addressing the challenges of armed robbery, vandalism, and other serious crimes in the region
The FCT Police Command, led by Commissioner Olatunji Disu, conducted a comprehensive crackdown between February 6 and February 23.
The operation targeted areas such as Kurudu, Kubwa, Galadimawa, and Kuje.

Under the guidance of Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, security operatives recovered a significant haul of illicit items, including suspected marijuana, machetes, axes, handmade bongs, glue, scissors, and illicit pills.
The police also intensified surveillance on abandoned buildings and isolated areas known for criminal activities, urging property owners to secure their structures to prevent misuse.
Commissioner Disu assured residents of continued efforts to ensure safety and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities using emergency contacts.
This operation reflects the command’s commitment to reducing crime and enhancing public safety in the FCT.
