As the holy month of Ramadan commences, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command is advising residents to be cautious and take proactive steps to protect themselves against crime.

The police have highlighted car theft, home burglaries, and online scams as potential threats during this period.

Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu has recommended that motorists park in well-lit areas near mosques and avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles, especially during Taraweeh and Fajr prayers.

He also stressed the importance of securing homes by locking doors and windows, particularly during early morning hours when burglars are most active.
Additionally, residents are cautioned against falling prey to fake charity scams and to ensure all online transactions are secure.

The police have pledged to enhance patrols and collaborate with community leaders to maintain safety throughout Ramadan.
