FCT Police deny link between Sexual Assault Victim and President Tinubu’s Family

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting that Ebunoluwa Fatoyinbo, a victim in a recent sexual assault case, is related to the family of President Bola Tinubu.
This clarification comes after widespread online reports alleged that Fatoyinbo was the sister of Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son.
The reports claimed she was assaulted by one Oscar Ilochi while exercising alone in a gym basement, prompting the police to open an investigation and review the gym’s CCTV footage.
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that an investigation had commenced based on a formal complaint filed by Ebunoluwa Fatoyinbo.
However, she made it clear that no familial connection exists between Fatoyinbo and the Tinubu family.
“The FCT Police Command is aware of a circulating publication on social media alleging that the Command has commenced an investigation into a case of sexual assault involving Miss Ebunoluwa, purportedly referred to as the sister of Mr. Seyi Tinubu, son of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” the statement read.
“The Command wishes to clarify that a formal complaint of sexual assault was indeed lodged by Miss Ebunoluwa Mitchell Fatoyinbo against one Oscar Ilochi, a resident of the Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja.”
Adeh urged members of the public, including media platforms and social media users, to verify information before disseminating it and to rely on official police communications for accurate updates on the matter.
