The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the promotion of 13 senior officers and recognized 10 others for exceptional performance in service delivery, operational excellence, and contributions to national revenue generation. The ceremony, held at the Customs Headquarters, underscores the agency’s commitment to motivating personnel and improving institutional efficiency.
Speaking at the event, the Comptroller-General of Customs emphasized that the promotions and awards are part of efforts to reward diligence, integrity, and professionalism within the service. He noted that the honorees have consistently demonstrated dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and facilitating legitimate trade.
The promoted officers, spanning various departments including enforcement, intelligence, and administration, were lauded for their leadership and significant roles in key operational successes. The 10 officers who received awards were commended for exemplary performance, innovative approaches to revenue collection, and outstanding contributions to curbing smuggling activities.
In his remarks, a senior official highlighted that such recognitions not only boost morale but also encourage other personnel to uphold high standards of service. “We believe that acknowledging excellence is key to sustaining a motivated and effective workforce,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with assurances that the Customs Service will continue to prioritize merit-based advancement and institutional reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and national security at Nigeria’s ports and borders.
