Akpabio denies making statement against Trump over Christian genocide remark

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has denied authoring a viral social media post that appeared to mock former US President Donald Trump over his recent claims about Christian killings in Nigeria.
In a statement from his media team on Monday, Akpabio described the circulating post as fake and the work of mischief makers trying to cause confusion between him and international figures.
He stressed that he never made any public comment about Trump or his position on Nigeria’s security issues.
Akpabio urged Nigerians to ignore the post and verify information before sharing, noting that false reports can damage the country’s image and create unnecessary tension.
He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and religious tolerance in Nigeria.
