NSC honors Aruna Quadri and Fatima Bello for historic ITTF World Cup qualification

National Sports Commission has congratulated Aruna Quadri and Fatima Bello for earning spots at the 2025 International Table Tennis Federation World Cup in China.
The duo secured their places after advancing to the semifinals of the ongoing ITTF Africa Cup in Tunisia.
Quadri eventually finished as the runner-up in the men’s singles event, narrowly losing to Egypt’s Omar Assar in a thrilling 4-3 match, thus missing out on his sixth title.
On the women’s side, Fatima Bello was defeated 4-1 by Egypt’s Hana Goda in her semifinal match.
The Commission praised the resilience and dedication displayed by the Nigerian athletes, emphasizing that their accomplishments reflect the immense talent, determination, and hard work of both the athletes and the country’s sporting federations.
