Minister Reassures Nigerians of Swift Completion of Abuja-Kano Road Project

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the swift completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road project.

During an inspection visit to the project site of Section 1 (Abuja-Kaduna) alongside the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, and members of the National Assembly Committees on Works, Idris underscored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s determination to ensure the project is delivered promptly and efficiently.

Speaking at the site, Mohammed Idris said, “Mr. President is extremely determined to see to the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project. We will not allow any contractor to hold us to ransom. We do not have the luxury of waiting another three years for this road to be constructed.”

The Minister of Works, Senator Umahi, has set an ambitious target of 14 months for the project’s completion. Idris expressed confidence in the Ministry of Works and its partners, commending their passion and determination.

He added, “This major artery linking the Federal Capital Territory to Kano and other states will be completed. The President has provided every support required, and Nigerians can hold the Ministry accountable.”

The Minister also cautioned against politicizing the project, urging all stakeholders to focus on delivering the infrastructure, which he described as a critical component of the Renewed Hope agenda.

In his remarks, Idris praised Senator Umahi, the Ministry of Works, the National Assembly, and other stakeholders for their dedication and promised regular inspections to monitor progress and update Nigerians on the project’s status.

The Abuja-Kano Road, a critical economic and transportation route, is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and boost socio-economic activities across the region upon completion.

President Tinubu’s administration has prioritized infrastructure development as a cornerstone of its governance agenda, with the Abuja-Kano Road project being one of its flagship initiatives.
