Super Falcons gear up for WAFCON Opener against Tunisia

Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has voiced his confidence in the team’s preparedness as they get set to face Tunisia in their opening fixture at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The highly anticipated Group B match is slated for Sunday at 5pm in Casablanca, Morocco.
Madugu is optimistic that his side will begin the tournament with a positive result, stressing that the players remain focused on their collective mission of clinching a record-extending tenth continental trophy.
The reigning nine-time African champions have delivered an encouraging run of form heading into the competition, securing wins over Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses and Ghana’s Black Queens in pre-WAFCON friendlies. They also held Portugal to a goalless draw in their final warm-up match. In their last five games, the Falcons have recorded just one defeat, a statistic that boosts confidence among fans and officials alike.
The Super Falcons are expected to approach their opener against Tunisia with determination, as they aim to stamp their authority early in the competition and set the pace for their title chase.
