NAWOJ FCT mourns the passing of Bauchi Journalist, Hafsat
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hafsat, a dedicated journalist and member of the Bauchi State Chapter of NAWOJ.
In a condolence message signed by the FCT Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpáng, the association described Hafsat’s death as a significant loss to her family, the journalism community, and the cause of women’s rights advocacy, which she passionately championed.
“Hafsat’s contributions, dedication, and commitment to the profession will always be remembered. Her passing is not only a personal tragedy for her loved ones but also a painful loss for the media industry,” the statement read.
Comrade Ikpáng extended heartfelt sympathies to the leadership and members of NAWOJ Bauchi State, as well as Hafsat’s family, praying for strength to endure the loss and for her soul to rest in peace.
“In this difficult time, know that we stand with you in solidarity and mourning,” she added.
Hafsat was known for her unwavering dedication to journalism and her advocacy for women’s rights, making a lasting impact in her field. Her passing has left a void in the profession, with colleagues and friends paying tribute to her remarkable work.
NAWOJ FCT reaffirmed its support for the Bauchi State Chapter and pledged to honour Hafsat’s legacy by continuing to uphold the values she stood for.
